November 13, 2011 Annual Holiday Sale!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

I'm so looking forward to cooking the turkey this year.  Last year we were gone and didn't have the famous "turkey leftovers."  We really missed that so this year we will have them.  I don't waste any of that turkey. I even boil the carcus (after I take all the meat off, of course) and it makes the best broth for turkey rice soup, or vegetable soup. I usually make a huge pot  and freeze some of it once we are tired of turkey!  I watched Giada on the Food Network Channel and got a great recipe for Cranberry Orange glaze. Can't wait to try some new things. This font color should remind you of pumpkin....I will be making a pumpkin cheesecake this ...

Good Morning!

In less than 2 weeks...10 days to be exact...I will be in Madison, WI for my Holiday Open House! This event will kick off my "crazy" fall schedule.  I am very excited to be coming back to Madison, as it was where I had my very first bracelet party.  My sister-in-law, Sarah Wolff hosted the party during Thanksgiving weekend 8 or 9 years ago.  Little did I know what would happen since that day!

September 11, 2011 Jewelry Store updated!!!

Hello Friends,

I have waited a long time to be able to tell you my website has been U-P-D-A-T-E-D!!!!! I have a wonderfully efficient webmaster who has completed this long overdue task. I procrastinated it for several years. Why? Because it takes me a long time to get the data together, photos taken, descriptions written and etc.etc.etc... But it is finished and I'm proud to tell you to take a look at what's new!!!  There are several new catagories AND new items in old catagories.  There are new prayers, 5 of them. There are discontinued items such as the gold frame, the lamp finials, the long keychains with a prayer box on the end.

Here's a list.............new catagories

July 13, 2011 Two weeks & counting!

Greetings from Indiana.......

I have been extremely busy getting things organized.  New products will be added to the web SOON!  I have finally photographed, described and delivered all the info to my website creator who will add these items for me.  It was a huge job to get accomplished as 23 new beaded creations are coming!!!!!!!! I have let this go way too long, thus it was a bigger job than it had to be. So, keep checking the site.  Can't say exactly when, but I have given him the go-ahead!  I hope you are as pleased and excited as I am!!

Two weeks and counting means it's almost "ART FAIR on the GREEN" time. T...

December 10, 2010 Bracelet on with Barbara Walters!

Happy December....Friends!

Exciting news!!!!!!   Just watched the Barbara Walters interview with Sarah Palin.  There was the clear crystal prayer box bracelet flingin' around on her LEFT wrist!  It was very visible because Sarah had a sleeveless black dress on and only my bracelet on her wrist.  I should be getting used to seeing it, but I have to admit, it's still a thrill to see it. It's going on 2 years that Sarah has been wearing it...hard to believe it's been that long.  I just bought her new book, America by Heart, and there are 2 pictures of it in the center photo pages.

I also need to let ...

October 27, 2010 A note from Mary Engelbreit

Happy almost-Halloween to you!!!

Just a quick note to let you know I sent a bracelet to Mary Engelbreit.  I did a program on her life and business in early October for an organization I belong to. She has been a huge favorite of mine for a long time.  So I got this brainy idea to send her a bracelet and special prayer.  Low and behold, it arrived when she was in the hospital with a strange strain of pneumonia. I knew it had been received due to the signature required at delivery.  Just last week I received a hand written note from Mary, thanking me for the "gorgeous bracelet".  I also invited her to visit my website...wish I knew if she ...

October 14, 2010 Dancing with the Stars!

Hi Friends,

I would say fall has arrived.  Love this cool weather, sunny days and beautiful colors.  Fall is my favorite season.

So I watched Dancing with the Stars last night....Sarah Palin was in the audience, clapping for her daughter and waving her left hand....with my bracelet flinging back and forth!!! Very exciting for me to see her still wearing it. I found a video and paused it while her wrist was visible, did a print screen, and now have a picture saved! Isn't technology wonderful!!

I'm working hard to try and get things ready for the Holiday Show Nov, 19th, 20th, and 21st h...

April 18, 2010 A busy time!

Good morning friends!!

The sun is shining brightly this morning, however, it is very brisk outside. My gardens are cleared of the winter brown foliage and ready for the new spring sprouts....which are already up and ahead of schedule. This is due to a warm spring, some rain and lots of sunny days. I am just itching to get out there but have to concentrate on preparations for Unique Boutique 2010. I have plans to enlarge a corner in our backyard so I can plant more perennials and maybe some tomatoes!  We took down an apple tree thus giving us the space to do it.

February 28, 2010 Greetings from Florida!

A big sunny hello from Florida!

This retirement lifestyle has had a workout in the past month! That's why I have been negligent in updating this feature....sorry!

Rich and I were recently in Minnesota, staying with my sister and watching our nephew play basketball for the Eden Prairie Eagles.  My sister graciously hosted a Prayers and Squares Open House which was a huge success.  I had not seen my Minnesota customers for over 2 years so it was time to get back up there.  I saw several past customers and met some new ones.  We were up there 5 days and the time went all too quickly.

December 05, 2009 Meeting Sarah Palin!!!!

Good Morning Friends....

Are you astonished that Christmas is only 3 weeks away???  I certainly am. While working feverishly to get all my orders out (I'm mailing them today) I realize I haven't thought about Christmas preparation at all! We don't have our tree up yet, no shopping has been done nor have I even considered what I will bake this year.  I'm in trouble, aren't I?   I keep telling myself.....'you will get it done'!  Wishful thinking???

Last Monday Sarah Palin was on the Oprah Show.  You guessed it......SHE WAS WEARING MY BRACELET! It was very visible when she was introduced and came out, waving her right arm with the bracelet flinging back and forth. It was noticeable a few times during the interview but quite visible at the end when Sarah leaned in to shake Oprah's hand.  I even took a picture of this sitting right in front o...

May 06, 2009 Sorry it's been so long!

Greetings to all my loyal customers and friends!!

I guess when you take some time off like I did in January, February and March...one forgets her routine if only for a few months!  I apologize for taking so long to update.

Visiting my Mom in Florida in January and February has been so rewarding for me. For so many years I was tied down with my daycare business and went seven years without a visit. So making up for these seven years has been not only fun but long overdue. Not to mention how much I need a "get-a-way" in January after the holiday season.

December 07, 2008 Sarah Palin writes!!

Hi Everyone!

Last September I sent a clear, crystal prayer box bracelet to her at the time her son, Track was being deployed to Iraq. Her campaigning schedule was hectic and I didn't know if she received the bracelet before or after the election.

Buenos Dias...Good morning!

We arrived home late Saturday night from spending a week in Honduras. All of our travel details went smoothly. We were surprised with Wilson being at the airport to meet us along with the Hawks and another boy named Israel.

My husband, Rich and son, Nic enjoyed themselves tremendously. They learned about the farm school from missionary, Travis Hawk, who took them on a long tour narrated with El Sembrador history. It was his grandparents that started the school.

We were a part of the graduation ceremony. In the morning we attended a ...

Good afternoon friends!

Details and packing are almost complete. We are leaving tomorrow for our flight to Honduras very early on Saturday. This is the trip we are going for Wilson's high school graduation. Graduation is on the 14th. We will spend the week there returning late on the 19th.

This will be my husband's first international trip and first time to meet Wilson! He is nervous about everything and I'm nervous about them finally meeting. I know it will be fine, but I can remember how I felt the first time I went. I guess it is the fear of the unknown.

Our oldest son, Nic, is going too. H...

We have returned from 3 weekends of travel, many miles driven and new customers added! Additionally we had time to spend with family which is always a pleasure.

Our schedule is a bit slower for the next 3 weeks. I do have a party in Ohio on the 13th, but that does not involve a weekend nor is it a long trip. I am looking forward to seeing these ladies again, I met them in the summer and this will be a second party for the hostess!

This week I have to get busy on a framing job of 16 pieces...I will try to get started ...

Here is a brief outline of our schedule:

Good morning, Friends!

Our weather has cooled off....what a welcome relief. It feels like fall is in the air even though we will have more hot weather. My husband and I love fall with cooler temperatures, an annual trip to the orchard, and changing leaves. We chose October to be married (almost 32 yrs ago!) because of all these reasons.

With fall approaching, it reminds me that my busiest time of year is quickly approaching. I am now putting together a fall schedule that is filling up fast. Where do these weekends go??! If you are interested in a party, please give me a call soon!

We are home from the Art Fair on the Green. What a fun time! I saw many familiar faces, we were extremely busy even though it was very hot. I was lucky to have the "perfect" spot, under a tree for some shade and next to a music group that was delightful to listen to. The setting was like a picture!

I could NOT have done this without the fantastic support of friends, family and husband! Thanks to Kurt and Jeanie for driving up to Wisconsin and all you did to help me. Greetings Friends!

It's been a hectic couple weeks since I last wrote to you!

My computer hard drive decided to give me problems which made me panic about the possibility of losing all my database, logos, cards, brochures, etc. My computer was 4 years old and experts told me it was time to replace it. I just didn't want to do that now as I'm preparing for a big show in 2 weeks. You guessed it...I have gotten a new system and have spent the last week installng it. What a job to do, and I had to rearrange my whole office due to length of cables, etc. But now I have a great setup, up-to-date equipment and am good to go for several years! ...

Today we will have our oldest son, Nic and his girl with us for a cookout. We are looking forward to seeing them and spending the day with them.  Tomorrow we will go north in Indiana to a small town festival where Kathleen used to live and help celebrate the 4th with them!

Business has been busy and not without some scary moments!  Last Monday my hard drive crashed on the computer.  LUCKILY my data was retrieved and saved to a new hard drive. June 19, 2005 ...Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all fathers around the world...

It is GOOD to be home! I've been here 9 days and am finally feeling rested, organized and ready to think seriously about designing new styles for upcoming events. Since May 17th my priorities had a different direction, one that I didn't really have a choice over. And I can't believe my last Honduran trip is over.  It seems like a year passes so quickly and it's time to go again! Once I get home I can't believe it's over!

Our youngest son is home this weekend for Father's Day and to attend a wedding. I am reminded of past Father's Days when the boys proudly gave their Dad homemade ...

I arrived safely last Friday and all my luggage made it.  That was an answer to prayer!

I have spent some good time with Wilson already and he is great!  It is always so good to see him, however, I'm always nervous when I first see him... He is handsome, and getting more so as he gets older. He is in school this week, and next week will be on vacation.  He will move into the house I'm staying in with the Hawks, along with 3 other boys, and that will allow us to have our meals together and really spend our whole days together. It will be fun for me and for them.  The Hawks go above their duties to make these boys feel welcome and special.

I am printing each prayer onto a business card. Once I get all 47 (!) prayers formatted, it won't be too hard to reprint them.
